Planeroll Terms of Use

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Planeroll mobile application, the planeroll.app website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Flyboys, LLC (“Planeroll,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.

Additional terms may apply to subscriptions, promotional offers, or features introduced in the future. Where required by law, we will obtain your agreement to material changes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Planeroll. Planeroll is intended only for adults.

Planeroll does not currently claim to verify each user's age.

You agree to provide accurate account information and comply with all applicable laws when using the Service.

We may restrict access where required by local law or where we cannot meet applicable legal requirements.

3. About Planeroll

Planeroll is a recreational aircraft identification and collecting application.

The Service allows users to:

• Identify aircraft using photographs, registration numbers, or aircraft information
• Record aircraft sightings
• Build and maintain personal aircraft collections
• Attach photographs and location information to sightings
• View aircraft details, specifications, and generated imagery
• Browse and manage their recorded aircraft

Certain features depend on network connectivity, third-party services, and the availability of aircraft reference information.

Planeroll is available in selected countries and regions. Availability may vary based on local laws, App Store availability, and other operational considerations. Europe, including the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom, is excluded from the initial launch.

Aircraft identification and image generation may produce incomplete or inaccurate results.

Planeroll does not guarantee that every aircraft can be identified or that every aircraft variant is represented in its catalog.

4. Accounts and Authentication

An account is required to maintain a persistent personal aircraft collection.

Authentication may be provided through Clerk, Sign in with Apple, and other supported authentication methods.

Clerk handles authentication and stores account email information. Planeroll associates user records with Clerk identifiers. You are not required to provide your real name, and Sign in with Apple may provide either an email address or an Apple private relay address.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity conducted through it, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

You agree not to impersonate others, provide fraudulent account information, or attempt to access accounts without authorization.

You should notify us at tower@planeroll.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may sign out or request account deletion through the available account-management features.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Planeroll offers automatically renewing monthly and annual subscriptions that provide access to paid functionality.

Subscription Prices

Prices, billing periods, introductory offers, and promotional terms may vary by country, storefront, user eligibility, or promotional experiment.

The applicable price, billing frequency, and other purchase terms will be disclosed before you confirm a purchase.

Prices displayed through Apple's App Store purchase process govern the applicable transaction, subject to applicable law.

Planeroll does not guarantee that all users will receive identical subscription offers.

Free Trials

Eligible users may receive a free trial or other introductory offer.

The duration, eligibility requirements, and terms of any trial will be disclosed before purchase.

Unless canceled before the trial ends, an automatically renewing subscription will convert to a paid subscription at the disclosed price, subject to the applicable offer terms.

Free-trial eligibility may be limited by Apple's policies and previous subscription history.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew for successive billing periods unless canceled.

Apple manages subscription billing and applicable renewal transactions.

Qonversion manages subscription entitlements. Qonversion does not process users' complete payment-card information for Planeroll.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through your Apple account's subscription settings.

Canceling a paid subscription ordinarily prevents future renewals but does not immediately terminate access for the remainder of the current paid billing period.

If you cancel during a free trial, the end of access will follow the applicable App Store offer terms.

Refunds

Purchases and refunds processed through Apple's App Store are subject to Apple's applicable refund procedures and any mandatory consumer rights.

Planeroll does not independently guarantee refunds for purchases processed by Apple.

Restore Purchases

Where supported, users may restore eligible App Store purchases and associated entitlements.

Restoration may require authentication or account verification.

6. Access After Subscription Expiration

An active subscription provides access to Planeroll's paid functionality.

After a subscription expires:

• Users retain access to view their existing aircraft collection.
• Users cannot create new planespots without renewed access.
• Existing planespot records remain associated with the account unless deleted under the applicable retention policy.
• Resubscribing restores the ability to create new planespots.

Subscription cancellation or expiration does not itself delete a user's account or aircraft collection.

These access rules are subject to account termination for violations of these Terms and applicable law.

7. Complimentary Access

Flyboys, LLC may grant selected users complimentary access to Planeroll.

Complimentary access may be provided through invitations, administrative grants, promotions, or other authorized arrangements.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing:

• Complimentary access does not require payment.
• Complimentary access may be time-limited.
• Planeroll may modify or revoke complimentary access.
• Complimentary access is not transferable.
• Complimentary access does not constitute lifetime access.

If complimentary access expires or is revoked, users may retain read-only access to their existing collection under the same general rules that apply after subscription expiration.

Planeroll does not currently offer lifetime access as a standard entitlement.

8. User Content and Photographs

Ownership

You retain ownership of photographs and other original content you submit to Planeroll, subject to any third-party rights.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights or permissions to upload and use submitted content.

You must not knowingly upload content that infringes another person's intellectual-property, privacy, or other legal rights.

License to Planeroll

By submitting content, you grant Flyboys, LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and transmit that content as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate your personal aircraft collection
• Identify aircraft
• Generate aircraft imagery
• Provide requested features
• Maintain and secure the Service
• Work with authorized service providers
• Create reusable aircraft artwork as described below

This license does not transfer ownership of your original photographs to Planeroll.

The license to retain and process original personal content ends when that content is deleted, except where continued processing or retention is legally permitted or required.

Rights relating to independently reusable generated imagery are addressed separately below.

Original Photo Privacy

Planeroll does not intentionally publish users' original photographs or make them available to other users as public content.

Photographs may be processed by authorized third-party services for identification and image generation, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable consent requirements.

Original-photo URLs are permanent and designed to be unguessable, but they do not require authentication. Anyone who obtains a valid URL may be able to access the photograph. Planeroll does not intentionally expose these URLs to other users or through public API responses.

Uploading photographs is optional. Before optional third-party AI photo processing, Planeroll provides a disclosure and requests affirmative permission. Users may decline and continue by manually entering aircraft information.

Abandoned Uploads

At launch, when you confirm Eject or otherwise explicitly abandon an unfinished Add Plane session, Planeroll will immediately initiate deletion of uploaded photographs associated with that session, including render-reference copies under its control.

If the app crashes, is force-quit, or loses connectivity before abandonment can complete, orphaned uploads will be automatically removed after 24 hours. Photographs associated with successfully saved planespots are retained under the normal account and content retention policy.

Deletion from independent AI providers or backup systems may follow their applicable policies and schedules.

9. AI-Generated Aircraft Imagery

Planeroll may use artificial intelligence and other automated systems to generate aircraft imagery based on aircraft information and user-submitted reference photographs.

External AI providers, including Google Gemini and OpenRouter, may process photographs and relevant aircraft information for aircraft identification or imagery generation. Those providers may retain submitted information under their applicable terms, configurations, and legal obligations. Account deletion does not necessarily erase every copy previously processed by an independent provider.

Generated imagery may be reused across users when it represents the same aircraft or aircraft configuration.

Rights in Generated Imagery

To the extent permitted by applicable law and relevant third-party licenses, Flyboys, LLC retains its rights in Planeroll-generated aircraft artwork and related assets.

Users receive a limited, nonexclusive right to view and use generated imagery within the Service.

Where Planeroll provides sharing or download functionality, users may use those features subject to any applicable restrictions.

Users do not receive exclusive ownership of shared aircraft renders merely because their photographs or aircraft information contributed to their generation.

Retention and Reuse

Planeroll may retain shared generated aircraft imagery after the contributing user deletes their account, provided that the retained imagery does not identify or remain associated with that user and its continued use is lawful.

Original user photographs and associated personal data remain subject to the deletion provisions of our Privacy Policy.

Accuracy

Generated imagery may contain inaccuracies involving aircraft shape, configuration, markings, liveries, registrations, proportions, or other details.

Planeroll does not guarantee that generated imagery precisely reproduces any actual aircraft.

Third-Party Rights

Aircraft manufacturers, airlines, operators, and other rights holders may own trademarks, logos, liveries, and other protected materials depicted in the Service.

Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or authorization unless expressly stated.

10. Location Information

Planeroll may use location information to associate aircraft sightings with places or airports.

Providing device-location access is optional.

Users may create planespots without enabling location access.

Location information may also be obtained from photographs containing embedded GPS metadata.

The collection, processing, retention, and disclosure of location information are governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Planeroll for unlawful purposes
• Infringe another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights
• Upload content you lack permission to use
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
• Circumvent subscription restrictions or access controls
• Abuse aircraft identification or image-generation systems
• Interfere with the security or operation of the Service
• Use automated tools to excessively access, scrape, or disrupt the Service without authorization
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
• Submit malicious, fraudulent, or otherwise unlawful content

We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including restricting functionality, removing content, or suspending accounts.

Any enforcement will be subject to applicable law.

12. Aircraft Information and Aviation Safety

Planeroll is intended for recreational planespotting, collecting, and general aviation-interest purposes.

Aircraft identification results, specifications, operational details, dates, registrations, and other information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

Planeroll is not an aviation navigation, maintenance, flight-planning, operational, or safety system.

You must not rely on information provided by Planeroll to operate, maintain, dispatch, navigate, or make safety-critical decisions involving aircraft.

Always use appropriate official aviation publications, approved procedures, and qualified professional guidance for operational purposes.

13. Intellectual Property

Except for user-owned content and third-party materials, the Service and its associated software, designs, branding, graphics, interfaces, and other protected materials are owned by Flyboys, LLC or its licensors.

You receive a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit protected Planeroll materials except as permitted by law or with our authorization.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe content available through Planeroll infringes your intellectual-property rights, contact tower@planeroll.app with sufficient information to identify the material and explain your claim.

We may remove or restrict disputed material while reviewing a complaint.

14. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts for material violations of these Terms, unlawful activity, threats to service security, or other legitimate reasons permitted by applicable law.

Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve issues before termination.

Immediate restrictions may be necessary for security, fraud prevention, or serious abuse.

Termination does not eliminate rights or obligations that survive under applicable law.

Users may request a copy of eligible personal collection data, subject to legal, security, and abuse-related restrictions.

15. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through Planeroll's account settings. Account deletion is permanent and removes your personal aircraft collection and associated data, subject to the exceptions described in our Privacy Policy.

Shared, non-personal generated aircraft imagery may remain available as described in Section 9.

Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an Apple-managed subscription. Users are responsible for managing subscription cancellation through Apple, subject to applicable law.

16. Data Access and Export

Users may request a copy of their personal aircraft collection by contacting tower@planeroll.app.

We will provide eligible collection data in a commonly used electronic format, such as CSV or JSON, subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification.

Exports may be fulfilled manually and do not require an automated in-app export feature.

The scope and timing of responses will comply with applicable data-protection laws.

17. Service Changes and Discontinuation

We may modify, update, replace, or discontinue features as Planeroll evolves.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes affecting their access or rights.

If Planeroll permanently discontinues its Service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and an opportunity for users to request an export of their personal aircraft collection.

This commitment does not guarantee uninterrupted service or preservation of data in circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Applicable subscription, refund, and consumer-protection rights remain unaffected.

18. Availability and Third-Party Services

Planeroll relies on internet connectivity, hosting providers, authentication services, aircraft-information sources, and AI systems.

The Service is offered only in selected countries and regions and may be restricted where required by local law, App Store availability, or operational considerations.

We do not guarantee that the Service or any individual feature will be continuously available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Features may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, technical limitations, or other circumstances.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and policies.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

19. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Planeroll is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

• Aircraft identification will always succeed
• Aircraft information will always be complete or accurate
• Generated imagery will be visually accurate
• The Service will always be available
• Every aircraft or variant will be included in the catalog
• Every error or interruption will be corrected immediately

These disclaimers do not limit mandatory warranties or consumer protections that apply in your jurisdiction.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Flyboys, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.

Any limitation of direct liability will be subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer protections.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other non-excludable obligations.

21. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms deprives consumers of mandatory rights or protections available under applicable local law.

Before initiating formal proceedings, users are encouraged to contact tower@planeroll.app so we can attempt to resolve disputes informally.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, applicable laws, or business practices.

We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes through email, the application, or another appropriate method.

Where required by law, we will obtain renewed agreement or consent.

The effective date at the beginning of these Terms identifies the current version.

23. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable additional terms presented at purchase, constitute the agreement governing use of Planeroll, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
