1. Introduction

Flyboys, LLC (“Planeroll,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Planeroll mobile application, the planeroll.app website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Planeroll is an aircraft identification and collecting application that allows users to record aircraft sightings, maintain personal aircraft collections, and access aircraft-related information and imagery.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how long we retain it, and the choices and rights available to users.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create or access a Planeroll account, we may collect or process:

Authentication is provided through Clerk and supported identity providers, including Apple. Clerk stores account email information, and Planeroll associates user records with Clerk identifiers.

You are not required to provide your real name. Sign in with Apple may provide either an email address or an Apple private relay address.

Aircraft Collection Information

When you create a planespot, we may collect:

This information is associated with your Planeroll account to maintain your personal aircraft collection.

Photographs

You may choose to capture or upload photographs to help identify aircraft, generate aircraft imagery, or preserve a record of your sightings.

Photographs may contain metadata, including location information.

Uploading photographs is optional. You can manually record aircraft without providing photographs or consenting to optional AI photo processing.

Location Information

With your permission, Planeroll may collect location coordinates to associate a sighting with a location or airport.

Location may also be obtained from metadata embedded in photographs you choose to upload.

Location access is optional, and you can create planespots without granting device-location permission.

Subscription Information

When you purchase a subscription, we may receive subscription identifiers, entitlement status, purchase and renewal information, and other transaction-related data necessary to provide access.

Apple processes App Store billing. Qonversion manages subscription and entitlement information.

We do not intend to collect or store complete payment-card details directly.

Website and Communications

If you subscribe to flight updates through planeroll.app, we collect your email address for that purpose.

If you contact support, we receive the information you voluntarily provide, including your email address and message contents.

Newsletter subscriptions are separate from Planeroll accounts.

Technical Information

We and our service providers may process technical information necessary for service operation, security, and troubleshooting, such as IP addresses, request metadata, app or device information, error events, and diagnostic events. Axiom is used for operational logging and observability.

Planeroll does not intend to collect behavioral product analytics or use advertising or cross-app behavioral tracking at launch. Operational logging is distinct from behavioral analytics.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Aircraft Imagery

Planeroll uses automated systems and artificial intelligence to assist with aircraft identification and image generation.

When you choose to use photo-based AI features, your photographs and relevant aircraft information may be transmitted to and processed by external AI service providers, including Google Gemini and OpenRouter, for aircraft identification or imagery generation.

Before submitting photographs for optional third-party AI processing, Planeroll will provide an appropriate disclosure and obtain affirmative permission.

Users may decline this processing and continue recording aircraft manually.

Third-party providers may retain submitted information under their applicable service terms, configurations, and legal obligations. Deleting a Planeroll account may not automatically erase every copy previously processed by an independent AI provider. Flyboys, LLC remains responsible for its obligations under applicable privacy laws.

AI-generated imagery may be inaccurate, incomplete, or visually different from the actual aircraft photographed.

Reuse of Generated Imagery

Planeroll may use photographs and aircraft information to create reusable aircraft artwork.

Generated aircraft imagery may be displayed to other Planeroll users when it represents the same aircraft type or configuration.

Original uploaded photographs are not intentionally published or displayed to other Planeroll users.

Shared generated imagery may remain available after the contributing user deletes their account, provided the retained imagery is no longer associated with or identifying that user and retention is otherwise lawful.

5. How We Disclose Information

We disclose information to service providers when necessary to operate Planeroll.

These may include:

Service providers may process information under their applicable agreements, security practices, and data-handling policies. The provider list may change as the Service evolves.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the security of the Service, or in connection with a lawful business transaction.

We do not intend to sell users' personal information or use it for cross-app behavioral advertising.

Original Photo Privacy

Original uploaded photographs are intended for the user's personal collection and associated processing, not public publication.

Original-photo URLs are permanent and designed to be unguessable, but they do not require authentication. Anyone who obtains a valid URL may be able to access the photograph.

Planeroll does not intentionally expose original-photo URLs to other users or through public API responses. This protection relies on the URLs remaining undisclosed rather than on authenticated access controls. Authorized service providers may access photographs as necessary to provide the Service.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process personal information under applicable legal bases, including:

You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, subject to lawful limitations.

7. Data Retention

Planeroll retains inactive accounts and saved aircraft collections indefinitely until the user requests deletion, subject to applicable law.

We do not automatically delete accounts solely because they have been inactive.

Saved planespot records and associated original photographs remain available while the account exists, subject to applicable service and legal limitations.

Operational records, logs, backups, and information held by third-party providers may follow separate retention schedules where legally permitted.

Abandoned Photo Uploads

At launch, when a user confirms Eject or otherwise explicitly abandons the Add Plane flow, Planeroll will immediately initiate deletion of uploaded photographs associated with that unfinished session, including render-reference copies under its control.

If the app crashes, is force-quit, or loses connectivity before abandonment can complete, orphaned uploads will be automatically removed after 24 hours.

Photographs associated with successfully saved planespots are retained under the normal account and content retention policy. Deletion from independent AI providers or backup systems may follow their applicable policies and schedules.

8. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your Planeroll account at any time through the app. Deleting your account removes your account information, planespot records, and original uploaded photographs from Planeroll's systems.

Certain information may be retained where required or permitted by law. Backups and operational logs may retain limited information until their normal expiration where legally permitted. Information previously processed by third-party service providers may remain subject to their applicable retention policies.

Shared generated aircraft imagery that no longer identifies or remains associated with the contributing user may be retained, subject to applicable law.

Deleting a Planeroll account does not necessarily cancel an active subscription billed by Apple. Users should manage their Apple subscriptions separately.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Eligible data exports may be provided manually in a commonly used electronic format, such as CSV or JSON.

We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

10. International Data Processing

Planeroll is operated by Flyboys, LLC in the United States and is available in selected countries and regions. Availability may vary based on local laws, App Store availability, and other operational considerations. Europe, including the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom, is excluded from the initial launch.

Personal information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Where required, we will use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

11. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and disclosure.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

12. Children's Privacy

Planeroll is intended only for adults aged 18 or older.

People under 18 may not create or use Planeroll accounts. Planeroll does not currently claim to verify each user's age.

If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we will take appropriate steps to remove the account and associated information, subject to applicable law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Planeroll evolves.

Material changes will receive reasonable advance notice through email, the application, or another appropriate communication method.

Where required by law, we will obtain renewed consent.

The effective date will identify the current version.
